Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Man United’s first negotiation with Chelsea in the Mason Mount deal was very positive.
Man United have identified Mason Mount as a priority deal in the summer 2023 transfer window. They have sent 3 offers to Chelsea to recruit the English star and were rejected by the Blues. The Reds’ latest offer for Mount is £55m, but the Stamford Bridge side want £65m for a player whose contract expires next year.
When the deal stalled, the parties had to hold their first face-to-face negotiations . And Fabrizio Romano said things are going very smoothly. The Italian journalist said: “After the first direct contact between the two clubs, the result for the Mason Mount deal was positive.
Man United and Chelsea will talk again soon. All parties see this week as an important time to make a final decision.”
The advantage in this deal is that Mount wants to go to Man United and the personal agreement between them is done. There is even news that the English star is willing to wait a year to come to Old Trafford on a free transfer.
