The push to help Chelsea overcome PSG

Sources from Record reveal the latest push on the summer 2023 market for Chelsea.

Manuel Ugarte is expected to leave this summer, with clubs across Europe interested in signing him following his stellar display for Sporting Lisbon this season. Ugarte made 47 appearances for Sporting, and became a regular player for Portugal.

Paris Saint-Germain is revealed to be serious about signing the 22-year-old talent . However, new Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino is very fond of the player born in 2001 and wants the Blues to complete the deal.

Chelsea received a significant boost through a source from Record. In particular, Ugarte prefers a move to Chelsea to PSG this summer and he could become Pochettino’s first signing as new manager at Stamfrod Bridge.

Ugarte would rather go to Chelsea than PSG.

The deal will see Chelsea pay a £52m release clause, plus a £4m bonus. There is also information that David Datro Fofana was put on the negotiating table to persuade Sporting to release Ugarte.

Fofana was Chelsea’s first signing of the January transfer window for a fee of around £8m. The Ivorian striker found his opportunities limited when he only played 4 times, including 1 starting time at Chelsea.
