Taty Castellanos, a player who has been on the rise after a poker game against Real Madrid, could be sold this summer for 15 million euros.

ESPN reports that Taty Castellanos could be sold for 15 million euros. The 24-year-old Argentinian striker caught attention when he scored 4 goals against Real Madrid in the 4-2 victory of Girona on the morning of April 26 in the 31st round of La Liga this season. Taty Castellanos is a player on loan by Girona from New York City FC.
The American team can accept to sell Taty Castellanos outright if it receives a reasonable price. The player born in 1998 joined Girona on loan in the summer of 2022 with a term of one season. He has scored 11 goals in 29 appearances in La Liga season 2022/23.
Before coming to Spain to play, the Argentinian player won the title of America’s Top Scorer of the American Professional Championship (MLS) season 2021 with 19 goals. According to Marca, Taty Castellanos is the first Argentine player to score 4 goals against Real Madrid in a single La Liga match. This is an achievement that not even Lionel Messi has achieved.
City Football Group of the UAE owns shares in Man City as well as many other clubs including New York City FC, Melbourne City FC, Yokohama F. Marinos, Girona and Mumbai City FC. That’s why Castellanos easily had a chance to come to light in Europe.
In 2021, Man City coach Pep Guardiola gave a positive assessment of Castellanos after speaking to his scouting department: “I think he will make progress in Europe. When the scouts spoke to me, I knew he was a quality player. Let’s see”.
According to Goal, the Argentinian player is unlikely to join Man City because Pep currently has two talented strikers, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. But with the price of £ 15 million, Goal said that there will be many clubs asking to buy Taty Castellanos, especially after witnessing his performance against Real Madrid.
