Speaking to 947 Joburg, assistant coach Benni McCarthy declared it would be a crime if David de Gea left Old Trafford this summer.
The Spaniard is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the month. At the moment, De Gea is still negotiating an extension with Man United.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper won the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Glove after keeping 17 clean sheets in the Premier League. However, he still faced criticism for making some serious errors and limited distribution of the ball.
Anyway, McCarthy believes United should try to extend De Gea’s 12-year stint at Old Trafford.
“David has kept 17 clean sheets in the league. Yes, of course, you’re going to concede but winning the Golden Glove for another season is remarkable,” McCarthy told 947 Joburg .
“You see how difficult this league is. Everyone has bad games here. That doesn’t stop David from being one of the best goalkeepers I’ve ever seen or worked with. unbelievable.
I spend time every day with David. He’s a great guy, very smart and one of the best goalkeepers I’ve ever seen. It would be a crime for United to lose a goalkeeper like David de Gea.”
