Coach Ten Hag expressed his disappointment with the performance of Man United’s attack in the weak defeat against Newcastle.
Newcastle earned an easy 2-0 win over Man United thanks to goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson. But “Shoot” could have won even more if goalkeeper De Gea did not play well.

In this match, Marcus Rashford started from the beginning for Man United but only launched 1 shot on target. After the match, coach Ten Hag admitted MU’s performance was not good enough and they did not create any clear chances in the whole match.
“I hate to say this but Newcastle were the better team today, especially in terms of determination, passion and desire. They were the team that wanted to win more this week, so they won.
We have our own chances but you need to go towards goal with the same determination as Newcastle. We didn’t perform well enough. We give them too many chances. In the past, we were better players. You need to be hungry, give everything in every game.
We couldn’t break their defence. We didn’t create any good chances. The best chance belongs to Anthony Martial when he can equalize. But we didn’t play well enough.”
This result means that Man United can drift to 5th place if Tottenham do not lose to Everton tomorrow. However, MU still has the advantage in hand when playing fewer games than Spurs.
