According to the Daily Mail, coach Erik ten Hag will say goodbye to the two stars of Man United, despite their earnest desire to stay at the club.
United signed Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer in January, on loan, to temporarily fill gaps in the squad. Neither of these deals has an outright purchase option.
Now, after a fairly successful season for the Reds, the Telegraph insists Weghorst wants to stay at Old Trafford, while Sabitzer insists he has found himself in a Man United shirt.
However, according to the Daily Mail, both players failed to achieve their wishes. Man United are said to not buy Sabitzer or Weghorst outright, forcing the pair to return to their parent clubs Bayern Munich and Burnley, respectively.
Coach Ten Hag admires both players. However, they are not up to the standard needed to get Man United to where Ten Hag wants to be. Accordingly, the Dutch strategist had to make a ruthless decision. At the same time, he will strengthen forces in these two positions over the summer.
In midfield, Harry Kane is Man United’s priority . Meanwhile, Delcan Rice and Mason Mount are the two names they target to strengthen the midfield.
