Via Canal Plus, Besiktas striker Vincent Aboubakar admitted he had talks with Man United, after Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford.
After the controversial departure of Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of November last year, Man United desperately needed a striker, but did not have much money to spend and had to focus on free deals.

When Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr, United had to borrow Wout Weghorst to replace him, while Aboubakar had to leave Al-Nassr and replace Weghorst at Besiktas.
“Before signing with Besiktas in January, I also negotiated with Man United and Atletico Madrid ,” Aboubakar told Canal Plus.
“I said to Besiktas; ‘If you give me what I want, it won’t matter when I come back.’ And then I went back to Besiktas.”
Aboubakar has enjoyed a lot of success since coming to Besiktas. While Weghorst has only scored two goals for the Red Devils – an achievement that could see him leave Old Trafford at the end of the season – Aboubakar has 12 goals in just 14 games for a Besiktas team.
At the moment, Ten Hag is in dire need of a top-class striker, and has identified Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen as two priority targets.
