The Daily Mail revealed Roberto Firmino will join Barca this summer after his current contract with Liverpool ends.
Firmino joins Barca
Since joining Liverpool, Roberto Firmino has always been among the pillars of this team. The Brazilian striker received the trust of coach Klopp. However, this season, Firmino can no longer maintain his form due to injury and age.
Liverpool will also not renew with Firmino at the end of the season. Therefore, the player born in 1992 can leave the Port City team as a free agent. There have been many rumors surrounding the new arrival of Firmino and Barcelona is one of them.
The Daily Mail reports that Firmino and Barcelona have reached a personal agreement on a free contract next summer. If there are no surprises, the Brazilian striker will team up with Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele in the Blaugrana attack.
Firmino is currently receiving a salary of about 180,000 pounds a week at Anfield. It is known that this player will receive the same treatment if he joins the Camp Nou team.
Firmino joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim in 2015 for a fee of £29 million. After eight years with Liverpool until now, Firmino has won almost every club title. Over 360 appearances, Firmino scored 109 goals for Liverpool. 2017/18 was Firmino’s peak season with 27 goals and 17 assists in 54 games.
Coach Jurgen Klopp still wants Firmino to stick with Liverpool for at least one more season. But the striker expressed his desire to leave. Currently, the competition on the “Red Brigade” is relatively large, especially after the appearance of the duo Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
Roberto Firmino wants to find a new place where he can play more often and this striker believes Barca is the right place. On the Blaugrana side, this team will have to find a way to balance revenue and expenditure if they still want to add new recruits next summer.
