After a rigorous selection, Chelsea have decided to put their trust in Mauricio Pochettino for the next season. The Blues had previously sacked Graham Potter after a string of disappointments in the Premier League.
According to The Sun, Pochettino will officially take over Chelsea from July 1. The Argentine strategist will fly to London this week to sign a three-year contract with the club.
Pochettino’s coaching staff includes assistant and fitness coach Jesus Perez, assistant coach Miuel D’Agostino, goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez and son Sebastiano, a sports scientist.
Pochettino will return to the coaching bench sooner than that. He will lead the World XI team at the Soccer Aid UNICEF charity match taking place at Old Trafford on June 11.
Pochettino will coach many star players, including former Argentina teammates Gabriel Batistuta and Hernan Crespo. In addition, the World XI team also includes Usain Bolt, Francesco Totti, Patrice Evra and Nani.
Chelsea’s next match of this color is the clash with Man City at Etihad. They are expected to make a surprise to keep the Premier League title race attractive. If Chelsea lose the match, the championship will fall into the hands of teachers and students Pep Guardiola.
If they lose points, Chelsea will officially not be able to rise to the top half of the rankings. This will be the first time that Chelsea have finished in the second half of the rankings since the 1995/96 season.
