Arsenal will have the opportunity to sign left-back Ferland Mendy this summer after Real Madrid decided to let him go.
Ferland Mendy was judged to be substandard for a Real Madrid player. The Spanish Royal team have informed Mendy’s agent to look for a new club in the summer.
Arsenal have been known for Ferland Mendy before the summer transfer window. The London team is trying to strengthen the defense to continue towards a high position on the rankings next year.
Arsenal have Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney at left-back. However, Tierney may leave because he rarely plays. Arsenal may consider selling the Scottish defender to fund the transfer of Mendy from Real Madrid. Ferland Mendy is valued at around £17.5 million at the moment.
Mendy has only played 1868 minutes this season because of his poor form and constant injuries. Since January, Mendy has only played two games with a total of 73 minutes.
In addition to Arsenal, Mendy will also be touted with Tottenham. However, the French player prioritized the club to participate in the Champions League, so Arsenal was still the more likely choice.
