England will not have the service of striker Marcus Rashford in the next two EURO 2024 qualifying matches and will return to the host club Man United.
Accordingly, the striker born in 1997 is suffering from an injury after the FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham. Marcus Rashford will miss England’s two matches in Euro 2024 qualifying, against Italy and Ukraine.
The English Football Federation confirmed: “Marcus Rashford will not be available for England in the next EURO qualifying matches because of an injury. Mason Mount is also out of the squad this time around and is recovering at Chelsea.”
Rashford is in extremely high form at the moment, and has had a total of 30 goals in all competitions since the beginning of the season (in both club and national colors). He is with the host team Man United towards the title at the end of the season, having reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
On the defensive front, the Three Lions also suffered when Nick Pope was injured, and Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster was called up instead. Forster has been in the squad since 2013, with a total of six caps for the national team, but hasn’t played for England since 2016
England will face Italy at Napoli, before returning to Wembley to host Ukraine at the weekend. The reunion with Roberto Mancini’s army will be worth waiting for, when these are the two teams that reached the final of the EURO last period.
