Per Mertesacker believes Arsenal are in a good position to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City this summer.
The 32-year-old played an integral role in Man City’s historic season, with the blue half of Manchester winning the historic treble (England Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League). Ilkay Gundogan’s contract with City expires at the end of June and the midfielder has attracted interest from a number of big European clubs including Arsenal, Barca and Dortmund.
Meanwhile, Man City also wants to keep Gundogan. Coach Pep Guardiola himself confirmed that he wanted the German captain to stay.
