OFFICIAL! Man Utd bid farewell to 6 players, welcome back 12 names

Despite submitting a preliminary list to the Premier League organizers after the 2022/23 season, Man Utd has now officially announced the farewell to players whose loan contracts are out.

June 30 is the expiration date of many players’ contracts, both on loan or on loan. Therefore,  Man Utd  has moved to update the squad when officially announcing a number of cases that are no longer attached to the team after the 2022/23 season.

Specifically, the Red Devils confirmed to return Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst to Bayern Munich and Burnley, respectively. The duo did not do well enough to be retained by coach Erik ten Hag. Similarly, Jack Butland left Man Utd and quickly joined Rangers.

Man Utd updated the squad after June 30.

Young talent Ethan Galbraith left as a free agent and became a member of Leyton Orient. The duo Di’Shon Bernard and Axel Tuanzebe were also not signed by Man Utd after the end of the contract.

Notably, David de Gea’s contract expired. However, Man Utd said: “Discussions over a new contract with De Gea are ongoing.” If the deal does not work out, the Spanish goalkeeper is likely to leave Old Trafford on a free basis.

In the opposite direction, Man Utd welcomed back a series of names after being loaned out. Dean Henderson returns from Nottingham Forest. However, the possibility that he will be sold out this summer. Forest is negotiating with Man Utd about the price.

Young goalkeeper Matej Kovar also ended his loan spell with Sparta Prague. Kovar and this club won the Czech Republic championship. The 23-year-old kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw against Slovacko, which was enough for Sparta to reach the 37th crowning record in history.

Defenders Eric Bailly (Marseille), Alvaro Fernandez (Preston North End), Ethan Laird (QPR) and Alex Telles (Sevilla) are also out of loan. Of these, Bailly and Telles have no future at Old Trafford.

According to British media, Man Utd is looking to sell Bailly and Telles to reduce salary when both are not in the plan of coach Erik ten Hag. Currently, Bailly and Telles are also looking for a new destination.

Coach Ten Hag decided not to keep Sabitzer and Weghorst even though the duo aspired to play for Man Utd.

Amad Diallo makes the strongest impression among Man Utd’s mercenaries. He became the most loved player of the Sunderland fans at the Stadium of Light when he won the “Black Cats” Young Player of the Year award.

Hannibal returned to Man Utd after also doing well in the Championship, with Birmingham City, while other young players like Will Fish (Hibernian), Charlie McNeill (Newport County), Charlie Savage (Forest Green Rovers) and Shola Shoretire (Bolton Wanderers) also went home and waited for the next opportunity.

In total, Man Utd announced the farewell of 6 players, and welcomed back 12 names in this round. In general, the Red Devils have a bulky squad and coach Ten Hag will find a way to liquidate players who do not meet the requirements.

Regarding the upgrade plan, Man Utd has successfully recruited Mason Mount. In the near future, they can welcome more Andre Onana and a quality striker to aim for a more successful 2023/24 season.
