PSG was not pleased when the Brazilian superstar skipped the Ligue 1 championship celebration to attend the F1 Monaco Grand Prix event.
On May 28, PSG drew with Strasbourg 1-1 and successfully defended the Ligue 1 title . Neymar was not present to share the joy with the team. Instead, the former Barcelona star attended the F1 racing event in Monaco. The 31-year-old superstar was seen posing with Hollywood actors such as Tom Holland, Orlando Bloom and Michael Douglas.
Coach Christophe Galtier confirmed Neymar’s absence was due to the inconvenience of traveling. However, L’Equipe revealed that Neymar’s actions made PSG owners unhappy. “Neymar seems to be provoking the team leadership,” the French newspaper wrote.
Goal further confirmed that PSG is very angry and the possibility of Neymar leaving the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2023 becomes even more obvious.
Neymar went missing on the happy day of PSG , but returned to Barcelona to celebrate the La Liga championship with his former teammates on May 15. Neymar’s move made a part of PSG fans dissatisfied. They argue that Neymar should take time to treat his injury, instead of traveling long distances to attend the celebration of the team that is no longer relevant.
PSG is said to be ready to listen to offers to buy Neymar from Premier League teams. The Brazilian star once committed to stick with PSG until the end of his contract (June 2025). However, when he and Lionel Messi suffered a wave of criticism from the PSG fan club after the defeat in the Champions League, Neymar considered the possibility of parting with the Paris capital club.
Neymar is recovering from ankle surgery. The Brazil international can only return at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. Injury ended Neymar’s sublime performance in “Le Parisien” shirt. Before retiring, the former Barca star contributed to 30 goals in all competitions.
