Coach Julian Nagelsmann is said to be no longer interested and will not participate in the race for the position of Chelsea manager next time.
Nagelsmann leaves race for Chelsea manager
After sacking coach Graham Potter, Chelsea wanted to find another candidate for the position of head coach. Several names have been targeted, including Julian Nagelsmann. The German coach is highly appreciated by the leaders of The Blues and is among the potential candidates to lead this team.
However, according to information from Fabrizio Romano, the German coach is no longer interested in the job of leading Chelsea. Therefore, Nagelsmann will withdraw from the race to the head coach of this team.
The reason is that the German strategist wants to close the future soon, but the Stamford Bridge team is still considering and needs more discussions. BLD Chelsea do not want to rush in personnel decisions, therefore, they need time to carefully screen before making a decision.
Previously, Chelsea also “failed” the CV of coach Luis Enrique. It is known that Enrique needs three years to pull the team back into the title race. For that reason, the Chelsea side also crossed out Enrique’s name from the list of candidates.
With both Luis Enrique and Nagelsmann leaving the race, the opportunity suddenly opened up for coach Mauricio Pochettino. The former PSG captain also had many meetings with the Chelsea board and received high trust from the Blues.
The Argentine captain also has experience working in the Premier League in the Tottenham shirt. In particular, the team of president Todd Boehly is convinced by Pochettino’s vision and strategy.
Currently, Frank Lampard is still holding the role of interim manager of Chelsea. The two sides will stick together until the end of the season before Chelsea find a new coach.
