According to a source from Football Insider, the Red Devils will give up this goal and look for another name to replace it.
Coach Erik ten Hag has emphasized that the addition of a striker is Manchester United’s top target this summer. The Red Devils need a top-class scorer to solve the goal problem. Therefore, they have come to Harry Kane – the star ranked second in the race for the Premier League Golden Shoe.
Kane currently has only one year left on his contract at Tottenham and is starting to consider a decision to leave after repeatedly spending empty seasons in North London.

However, the prospect of Kane coming to Man Utd is unlikely, because the Tottenham chairman does not want to indirectly strengthen the opponent. Therefore, according to a source from Football Insider, the Red Devils have “raised the white flag” in this deal.
Instead of pursuing Kane, they will contact an easier target, which is Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old player is known as an incomplete version of Erling Haaland when possessing a body and playing style quite similar to the Man City star.
Last season, Hojlund also had 15 goals and 7 assists in all competitions. To be able to own this name, Man Utd is expected to spend £ 52 million.
