Speaking before the trip to Newcastle, coach Mikel Arteta updated Arsenal’s force situation.
In the 35th round of the English Premier League 2022/23, Arsenal are a guest on the field of Newcastle. The Gunners are 1 point behind the leader of the table Man City and kick 1 more game, they need 3 points to continue the championship race. However, the home team also needs points for its ambition to enter the Top 4, thereby having tickets to the Champions League next season.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba could both miss the game. Gabriel failed to complete a 3-1 midweek win over Chelsea, leaving the field in the 85th minute with an ankle injury. As for William Saliba, he has been out of action since mid-March until now.

Speaking before the trip to Newcastle, coach Mikel Arteta updated Arsenal’s force situation. Of Gabriel, Arteta said: “We’ll have to see how he is tomorrow, but the fact that he won’t be able to play fully against Chelsea is a huge worry.”
“About Saliba. Not much progress. He feels better every day but has yet to return to training with the first team, so we don’t expect him to play against Newcastle.”
With the absence of Saliba, the London team could not keep a clean sheet. Talking more about Saliba, Arteta continued: “It is difficult to judge when he will return to play, but we hope not to lose him for the rest of the season.”
