Mbappe: I informed PSG of my decision in advance

Striker Kylian Mbappe confirmed that he informed the PSG board a year ago of his decision to leave when the 2023 season ends.

Recently, striker Kylian Mbappe informed PSG of his decision not to renew his contract after the 2023/24 season ends. At that time, the contract between the two parties was officially no longer valid.

According to the French striker, this was mentioned to the BLD 1 year ago, when he agreed to put pen to paper on a contract to continue to stick with PSG until 2024.

Mbappe revealed to AFP:

“Last time, I had no negotiations with PSG at all. From July 15, 2022, I made it clear to them that I would not renew my contract after 2024. My recent announcement only confirmed recognize this.”

The contract between Mbappe and PSG expires in June 2024.

Despite a decision on the future, Mbappe still respects the contract signed with PSG. He confirmed that he will continue to wear the home team at the Park of the Princes next season.

As for PSG, they are not willing to lose Mbappe next summer. In the near future, the BLD team will have talks with the striker born in 1998 to convince him to change his mind.

However, PSG has also considered the worst case scenario if Mbappe refuses to sign a new contract. At that time, the French capital team will sell him right in the summer transfer window of 2023. The desired price for PSG is around 160-170 million euros.
