Goalkeeper: De Gea
United have yet to tie David De Gea to a new deal, meaning the veteran could theoretically leave for free this summer. However, De Gea still has hope to stay and prolong his stay with the club.
Despite some big mistakes, De Gea is still one of the top goalkeepers and the Golden Glove award is proof of that. Not to mention, Man Utd’s budget for transfer activities is not much, so they may not bring in a new goalkeeper.
Defenders: Frimpong, Kim, Martinez, Shaw
Man United are very interested in Jeremie Frimpong. This player impressed in Bayer Leverkusen’s shirt to help the club rank 6th in the Bundesliga table. He could join Old Trafford in the summer, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future is uncertain.
Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane play well at center back, but Kim Min-jae could offer better competition. Reports in Italy confirm a deal for the Korean international is nearing completion.
In contrast, Luke Shaw will continue to hold the position of left-back. Obviously, no one could compete with him in this role.
Midfielders: Mount, Casemiro, Fernandes
