Adrien Rabiot was close to joining Man United last summer. The transfer fee with Juventus was accepted, but in the end the deal fell into a stalemate when the two sides disagreed on salary.
Man United are said to have offered Rabiot a salary enough to make the player one of the highest earners at Old Trafford. But even then Rabiot was not satisfied and had higher demands.
Rabiot has had an impressive season in Italy this year. He scored 11 goals in 44 matches and this is the best season of his career.
However, Rabiot’s contract expires at the end of this season. Man United have made an offer for the 28-year-old as manager Ten Hag aims to improve MU’s squad for next season.
Although MU played promisingly in their first year under Ten Hag, they still had problems with depth at times. This leads to the unstable results of Man United.
Rabiot has yet to respond to Man United’s offer. Juventus have also made an offer to keep Rabiot. Rabiot’s mother and representative, Ms. Veronique, will negotiate with interested parties in the coming days.
In addition to Rabiot, Man United are also targeting Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone. The 21-year-old rose to prominence at Toulouse before joining Gladbach in January 2021. The player has impressed in the Bundesliga and has been called up to the France U21 team.
