Losing carpet to Arsenal, Chelsea can be relegated?

The defeat to Arsenal was Chelsea’s 6th consecutive loss in all competitions and can they be relegated with the current plunge?

In the match of the 34th round of the Premier League,  Chelsea  had a disastrous start to Arsenal when conceding 3 goals after only 34 minutes.  Noni Madueke’s goal in the second half only helped The Blues  leave Emirates Stadium with an honorable goal.

Chelsea have to receive another defeat under Lampard.

This was the 6th consecutive defeat in all competitions since  Frank Lampard  took over and Chelsea’s 4th consecutive defeat in the Premier League. So the Blues can be relegated if they continue to receive bad results like the past time?

Theoretically, Chelsea can still play in the Championship. Chelsea is more than 3 teams at the bottom of the table by 9 points when Leicester City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest all have 30 points, and Lampard’s teachers and students have 39 points.

On the other hand, there is one more condition that  West Ham with 34 points, Wolves with 37 points and Bournemouth with 39 points must all play better than Chelsea in the remaining 4 rounds.

On average, teams need 36 points to stay in the Premier League, with the last team to be relegated with 39 points being Birmingham City in 2011. Before that, West Ham was the record holder when there were 42 points still relegation in the Premier League. season 2002/03.
