Striker Dejan Kulusevski insists he and the Tottenham players support the club’s decision to sack coach Conte.
Tottenham sacked coach Conte last Sunday after less than 18 months of cooperation. The decision comes after coach Conte criticized the Tottenham players and management for a lack of winning mentality following the 3-3 draw with Southampton.
Kulusevski admits he misses working with Conte, who brought him to Spurs in his first transfer window.
When asked how he felt about Conte’s departure, Kulusevski said: “I am not the one to decide. Whoever the coach is, we will always accept and fight for him and everyone else. Now the club has made the decision because they think it is for the best and we players support it.
There is always a feeling of sadness when someone you worked with and became close to has to pass away. But life goes on and you just have to move on. He is very important. I learned a lot from him and will always remember him. But for now we will work with his assistant, whom we know very well. Then we’ll see who comes next season. But I like the city and this club a lot.”
Spurs’ first challenge after returning from the international series is Everton. The London team needs to win to keep 4th place on the rankings.
