Joao Cancelo is unlikely to be permanently bought by Bayern Munich, and Barca is planning to recruit the Portuguese player.
Joao Cancelo currently plays at Bayern Munich on loan from Man City, where he is at odds with Pep Guardiola. The German team has the right to buy the Portuguese player outright for a fee of about 70 million euros.
The player born in 1994 has actually played quite impressively since joining Bayern Munich. Bild newspaper confirmed that the defending Bundesliga team decided to part with Joao Cancelo at the end of the season after the expiration of his loan contract, the reason being because the fee to buy him out was too high.

The possibility of the 28-year-old leaving Bayern at the end of the season is even higher when he has a conflict with Thomas Tuchel, who was appointed to replace Julian Nagelsmann not long ago. After the match between Bayern and Dortmund, Joao Cancelo went straight into the tunnel instead of staying to celebrate the victory with his teammates.
The Portuguese player only entered the field from the 79th minute to replace Alphonso Davies. In a little more than 10 minutes on the pitch, Cancelo did not leave much of an impression and that probably made him unhappy. Coach Tuchel certainly did not support the defender’s response.
Despite Cancelo’s bad attitude, Barca still wants to bring him back to Camp Nou when the season ends. According to Don Balon, Barca accepts to buy Man City players for a reasonable fee, about 45 to 50 million euros. Real Madrid are also considering signing Cancelo.
