Erik ten Hag has seen 11 first-team players leave Old Trafford since he was appointed manager of Man United in 2022 until now.
1. Cristiano Ronaldo
From the beginning, Ronaldo did not fit into Ten Hag’s system and then their relationship gradually deteriorated. After some controversy, Ronaldo decided his fate with a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, leading to the termination of the contract.
No European club wanted to sign the Portuguese superstar, and he went to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where the former Real Madrid player scored 14 goals in 19 games.

2. Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba’s tumultuous time at Old Trafford has finally come to an end as his contract expires. The French star returned to Juventus but things did not go well for him due to injury. Pogba was unable to play until February, with a lackluster contribution, and the Old Lady did not have the desired performance.
3. Andreas Pereira
The only player United actually sold for a fair price last summer was Andreas Pereira, who let him go to Fulham for around £9m. The Brazilian had a fantastic campaign beyond expectations and became one of the mainstays of Marco Silva’s squad, contributing 11 goals in 38 games.
4. Juan Mata
Mata realized that he could not contribute much to Man United and decided to leave. The Spaniard went to Turkey, playing 18 matches to help Galatasaray win the national championship.
5. Nemanja Matic
Matic surprised everyone when he announced that he would leave Man United on a free basis, as agreed in the contract. He reunited with Jose Mourinho at Roma and enjoyed a fine season.
6. Jesse Lingard
The striker ended his long relationship with Man United and joined Nottingham Forest but has not made much of an impact and is currently looking for another club.
7. Edinson Cavani

Cavani’s second season at Old Trafford did not go well for several reasons. Then he went to Spain to sign a free contract with Valencia, scoring 7 goals in 28 appearances.
8. Lee Grant
Grant ended his career last year after spending the last three seasons as a backup for David de Gea. He hooked up with former Reds assistant coach Kieran McKenna at Ipswich in a coaching role and helped Tractor Boys win promotion to the Championship.
9. Zidane Iqbal
Zidane Iqbal failed to break into the first team of Ten Hag last season and had to leave this summer. Man United only collected a fee of under £1 million for the 20-year-old when he joined Dutch side Utrecht.
10. Phil Jones
After 12 years at Old Trafford, Phil Jones has quietly closed his time at Old Trafford when his contract expires. The centre-back’s career has been marred by injury in recent years and he has yet to find a new team to play in.
11. Axel Tuanzebe
Another central defender who also has injury problems is Axel Tuanzebe. The Red Devils academy graduate spent unsuccessful loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke before leaving Man United on a free transfer.
