Talking on his personal twitter page, journalist Fabrizio Romano affirmed that coach Erik Ten Hag wants to keep the main defender.
In the context of Manchester United deploying a strong squad purge, there have been a series of rumors related to names that are likely to leave Old Trafford. Recently, Fabrizio Romano has spoken out clarifying the future of Victor Lindelof, who is said to have plans to leave in search of regular playing opportunities.
The Italian journalist said:
“Erik ten Hag has never changed his mind on Victor Lindelof – he is untouchable. The same message was sent to Atletico & Inter in January, and it is still valid today.”

“Frankfurt never negotiated specifically with Man United. Atletico and Inter were keen to sign Lindelof, but they didn’t get the chance.”
Of course, in the context of a series of central defenders like Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Harry Maguire all standing at the door to leave Old Trafford, Man Utd has no reason to part with Lindelof.
Whether targeting a few other quality central defenders like Kim Min-jae or Axel Disasi, Lindelof will certainly still play a particularly important role in the Reds’ squad next season.
