Hargreaves suggested Ten Hag get rid of Man Utd criminals

On BT Sport, Owen Hargreaves wants Erik ten Hag to ‘kill’ a name after a disastrous performance against Sevilla.

Manchester United was eliminated from the Europa League by Sevilla. The Red Devils were the better team in the first leg at Old Trafford but let the opponent equalize thanks to two late own goals.

Sevilla took full advantage of their home ground advantage to beat Manchester United 3-0 and win the semi-finals with a total score of 5-2.

David de Gea spent an evening of disappointment and mistakes  in all three goals  conceded in Spain. After the loss,  Owen Hargreaves  suggested that Erik ten Hag might need to replace De Gea. Specifically,  Hargreaves shared on BT Sport:

De Gea made a mistake against Sevilla.

First of all, David de Gea has been a dedicated player for Man Utd. He’s an excellent goalkeeper and a classy saver. But  De Gea was not good at using his feet and it happens  against Sevilla. This problem appears a lot of times in the current season”.

“We know Erik ten Hag wants to play offensively, he wants the backline to receive the ball to develop his play.  The first goal came from playing like that and the same thing happened on the 3rd goal but to a degree. not as clear as”.

“Those are important situations that Man Utd need to change. So the question is  Does De Gea fit into Erik ten Hag’s philosophy? Based on today, would you say no, things don’t  go well”.
