Via YouTube channel Vibe With Five, legend Rio Ferdinand criticized Man United for selling academy players since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
After a failed first season for David Moyes, United have parted ways with many mature talents from the academy team, such as Jonny Evans , Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez and the Da Silva brothers.

“They’re the lifeblood of Man United, they’re all from the academy, they’re the boys of Man United,” Ferdinand said on his Vibe With Five YouTube channel.
“It’s part of what the club was built on before, the guys from the academy were integral to the image that Man United built. And they got rid of those players arbitrarily . By the way, I can’t believe it.
With what they did at Man United, they can do better for the rest of their careers.”
Ferdinand explained his surprise when United let Evans go and kept Chris Smalling – who was outstanding at Roma : “Evans should never have been allowed to leave the club. He is the best centre-back. at that club. Smalling had a fantastic career, don’t get me wrong, but Jonny Evans was a better player, 100 per cent.”
