Fabrizio Romano predicts Arsenal’s second rookie after Havertz

Via GMS, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Arsenal’s talks with Jurrien Timber were ‘very positive’.

Once the main defensive target of Man United, Timber is now being pursued by Arsenal . Although the first offer made to Ajax in an attempt to sign the youngster was rejected, the Gunners remain focused on reaching an agreement. talkSPORT claims that Arsenal’s management is still confident of reaching an agreement with the Dutch giants.

Arteta wants Timber.

The Guardian claims the 22-year-old star is keen to move to England and Ajax are demanding more than £30m for their ‘treasure’.

Speaking to GMS, Romano said: “Yes, I think Arsenal will send more offers. There was a conversation between Arsenal, Ajax and the player side. Negotiations are very active , so it looks like a very specific deal between Arsenal and Ajax for Jurrien Timber is nearing completion.”

Arsenal have been at the top of the Premier League table for most of the 2022/23 season, but failed in the final stages. The Gunners’ decline was evident when they lost William Saliba to injury, so strengthening the defense in the defense was the right move for Mikel Arteta and his associates.
