In a recent interview, coach Erik ten Hag personally confirmed that midfielder Raphael Varane is preparing to return to play.
Center-back Raphael Varane was injured in the 2-2 draw between MU and Sevilla in the first leg of the Europa League 2022/23 at Old Trafford. He was substituted after the break, the French player suffered an Achilles injury. The former Real Madrid star is currently recovering from an injury.

According to the Mirror, the French player will miss the rest of the season due to an injury. Accordingly, Varane’s injury is more severe than expected. In a recent interview, coach Erik ten Hag personally confirmed that midfielder Raphael Varane is preparing to return to play. He said:
“I think Raphael Varane is like Scott McTominay, they are very close to returning to play. However, the next two matches, he is not available. Varane is recovering well. I hope he plays a few games at the end of the season.”
With the current situation, the chance for Varane to attend the FA Cup final against Man City is very high. In the immediate future, he will sit out in the Red Devils’ march against Brighton, then continue to be absent in the match against West Ham.
Varane is expected to be on the bench against Wolves on May 13. MU is still competing for a place in the Top 4, so the return of the French player is very important for the Red Man.
