According to The Mirror, Man United will only allow Mason Greenwood to play again if an agreement is reached with the women’s team and commercial partners.
Greenwood remains suspended by the Red Devils and cannot train or play while the club conducts an internal investigation.
The striker was acquitted despite being accused of rape, assault, coercion and lack of behavioral control. However, his future at Old Trafford remains uncertain. Recently, coach Erik ten Hag himself admitted that he could not do anything about this situation .
According to The Mirror, after the internal investigation is completed, Man United also plans to speak with the women’s team and commercial partners to assess opinions about Greenwood . They want to make sure that all parties agree to give Greenwood a chance, although the final decision may lie with the Glazer family and chief executive Richard Arnold.
Members of the Red Devils women’s team are said to be “deeply upset” at the prospect of Greenwood returning to the club in the future. Meanwhile, Man United also fear that Greenwood’s return could affect their relations with commercial partners.
