After the Rice case, Arsenal immediately bought more high-class midfielders

Journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed the next player Arsenal will sign after West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Graeme Bailey says the Gunners can continue to be active in the transfer market after securing the Rice and Jurrien Timber deals.

Speaking on 90min’s Talking Transfers podcast, he said: “I think they’re going to want more. From what we’re hearing, I wouldn’t rule out Arsenal signing another midfielder. I think Moises Caicedo will go to Chelsea .”

“But with Romeo Lavia , someone like that, I don’t rule out the possibility that Arsenal will have another class of midfielder . In fact, I would be shocked if they didn’t.”

Lavia could move to Arsenal.

Arsenal  are set to sign Rice for £105m, breaking Jack Grealish’s UK transfer record for £100m from Aston Villa to Manchester City. They are also close to reaching an agreement for versatile Ajax defender Jurrien Timber for £45m.

This has been a really exciting summer for Arsenal after years of frugal spending in the transfer market. They are determined to return to title competition next season.
